Description:
Pain during swallowing, also known as odynophagia, can occur due to various underlying conditions affecting the throat, esophagus, or mouth. It can range from mild discomfort to severe pain and may occur with solid foods, liquids, or both. Common causes include throat infections, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), esophageal ulcers, or even tumors. The pain can be sharp, burning, or a feeling of tightness when food moves down the esophagus.
