Heart Pain

Description:

Heart pain, often referred to as chest pain or angina, can range from mild discomfort to severe pressure. It may be caused by issues related to the heart, lungs, muscles, or even psychological stress. Heart pain can be localized in the chest or radiate to other areas, such as the arm, jaw, or back.

Causes:

• Coronary artery disease (CAD) causing reduced blood flow to the heart.
• Heart attack due to a blocked artery.
• Pericarditis, which is inflammation of the heart's outer lining.
• Muscle strain in the chest area or intercostal neuralgia.
• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) mimicking heart pain.
• Stress or panic attacks causing a sensation of chest tightness.

Heart pain should never be ignored, especially if accompanied by symptoms like shortness of breath, nausea, sweating, or dizziness. Immediate medical attention is necessary to determine the cause and provide appropriate treatment.
