PAIN ON PRESSURE
Pain on pressure is an unpleasant sensation that arises in response to mechanical impact on a specific area of the body. This symptom may indicate inflammation, injury, or another pathological process in the body.
CAUSES OF PAIN ON PRESSURE
- Inflammatory processes. For example, abscesses, boils, or joint inflammation can cause pain when pressed.
- Injuries. Bruises, sprains, fractures, or soft tissue damage are often accompanied by pain on touch.
- Infections. Infections affecting the skin or internal organs may manifest as pain on pressure.
- Tumor formations. Certain types of tumors may cause pain when mechanical pressure is applied.
- Neuralgia. Damage or irritation of nerves can lead to localized pain on pressure.
SYMPTOMS ACCOMPANYING PAIN ON PRESSURE
- Redness or swelling in the painful area.
- Localized skin temperature increase.
- Sensation of burning or itching.
- Restriction of movement (if a joint is affected).
- Appearance of lumps or changes on the skin.
HOW TO TREAT AND PREVENT PAIN ON PRESSURE
- Determine the cause of pain. Consult a doctor for diagnosis and identification of the root cause of the symptom.
- Apply cold or warm compresses. Depending on the cause of pain, compresses may reduce inflammation and relieve the condition.
- Medication. Use of painkillers or anti-inflammatory drugs as prescribed by a doctor.
- Physiotherapy. Treatments such as ultrasound or electrophoresis can help with injuries and inflammations.
- Timely treatment of infections. If an infection is present, antibiotics or other antimicrobial medications may be required.
- Surgical intervention. In cases of abscesses or other severe conditions, surgery may be necessary.
